Manila: Most parts of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms on Monday, coinciding with the return of more than 26 million learners to classrooms nationwide for the opening of School Year 2026-2027. According to Philippines News Agency, the Ilocos Region and Zambales are expected to see scattered rains and thunderstorms influenced by the southwest monsoon. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas could lead to flash floods or landslides. Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are anticipated to prevail across Metro Manila and the rest of the country. In extreme Northern Luzon, moderate winds and moderate seas are forecast, while elsewhere, winds are expected to be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
