Manila: The Israeli government has committed to covering all hospitalization costs for Filipinos injured in the recent Iranian air raids, as confirmed by Israel Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss.
According to Philippines News Agency, the latest data from the Philippine Embassy in Israel indicates that no Filipino fatalities have been reported in the attacks; however, seven individuals sustained injuries, including one who remains in critical condition. Ambassador Fluss emphasized that these individuals will receive financial assistance and full medical support similar to that provided to Israeli citizens. "All of them are in Israel and will get the support and compensation or whatever mechanisms we have like any other Israeli," Fluss stated during an interview.
The Iranian strikes have resulted in 24 Israeli fatalities and numerous injuries. Among the injured Filipinos, the critically wounded caregiver is undergoing intensive care at Shamir Medical Center, one of Israel's leading hospitals, and requires major surgery. Another individual remains hospitalized at Kaplan Medical Center with moderate-to-serious injuries, while the remaining five have been discharged after treatment for minor injuries.
Additionally, 49 Filipinos have been displaced due to missile impacts and are currently residing in temporary accommodations. This group includes an infant born on June 10. At least 150 Filipinos have initially requested repatriation, with 26 confirmed and currently being processed for return to the Philippines. The Embassy also reported that 63 nationals have received various forms of assistance, including temporary shelter and relief packages containing essential items such as food, clothing, and hygiene products.
The Philippine Embassy has been operating round-the-clock to address the needs of affected Filipino nationals, ensuring continuous support amid the ongoing crisis.
