ITCZ Continues to Bring Rains Over Mindanao

Manila: Several areas in Mindanao will continue to experience light to moderate rains due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said on Tuesday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicated in its 5 a.m. advisory that regions such as the Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Soccsksargen, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental are expected to face scattered rains and thunderstorms as a result of the ITCZ. According to Philippines News Agency, the weather bureau has advised residents residing near mountain slopes and in low-lying areas, particularly those near rivers, to remain vigilant for potential flash floods or landslides. Meanwhile, the Visayas and the remainder of Mindanao are forecasted to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, influenced by the easterlies. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, with isolated rain showers stemming from localize d thunderstorms. Extreme Northern Luzon is set to witness moderate winds blowing from northeast to east, coupled with moderate seas. The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds, alongside slight to moderate coastal waters. The temperature is expected to vary between 25.9°C and 34°C.
