Tokyo: Japan's National Police Agency announced on Thursday that it will deploy up to 10,000 police officers per day for security operations at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, scheduled to commence on September 19.

According to Philippines News Agency, approximately 3,100 of the personnel will be dispatched from police departments nationwide to prepare for terrorist attacks and other emergencies. The enhanced security measures come in light of the revised drone regulation law that took effect in July. This law will temporarily prohibit drone flights within a 1-kilometer radius of the venue for the opening ceremony, which will be attended by Emperor Naruhito, as well as the accommodations for participants and dignitaries.

In an effort to combat "lone offenders" who may carry out terrorist attacks independently, the police will employ artificial intelligence for the first time. This technology will be used to detect signs of potential attacks on social media and assess the level of danger.
