The Malaysian Information Department (Japen) picked up two awards at the 4th ASEAN PR Excellence Awards 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, yesterday.
Japen in a statement today the awards received at a ceremony jointly organised by the ASEAN PR Network (APRN) and the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) were the Diamond Award for the 'Best Crisis Management' category and the Bronze Award for the 'Best Government PR' category.
"For both these categories, Japan submitted a special report related to its role as the agency responsible for media management during the landslide tragedy in Batang Kali, Selangor on Dec 16, 2022," it said, adding that the awards were collected on behalf of all Communications and Digital Ministry staff for their outstanding service during the disaster
