Camp john hay: Camp John Hay management suspended its free e-shuttle service and ordered a comprehensive safety review Monday following the Jan. 16 accident that killed one person and injured six. John Hay Management Corporation president Manjit Singh Reandi said the suspension will continue until all operational factors are thoroughly checked.

According to Philippines News Agency, Reandi emphasized that the suspension was immediate, stating, "As soon as I was told of the incident, I immediately ordered a stoppage of all the e-shuttle wherever they were just to be sure. We will not resume the operation until we have checked, rechecked and multiple checked all factors," during a press conference held at the camp.

Investigators have not identified any mechanical defects in the vehicle involved in the accident but are scrutinizing the driver's fitness, operational systems, and passenger insurance. Additionally, John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) is conducting an assessment of walkways, railings, and roads throughout the camp to identify potential safety interventions.

Reandi also noted that JHMC has provided humanitarian assistance to the family of the deceased and is in contact with other victims who independently sought medical treatment. The shuttle service operator, Cordillera Basic Sector for Transportation, is actively cooperating with the investigation.

The e-shuttle service was initially launched to address mobility issues within the camp and serves both tourists and local workers.
