Cagayan de oro: Authorities have dismantled a drug den and arrested several suspects in a series of operations here, seizing illegal substances valued at PHP2.24 million.
According to Philippines News Agency, in a joint statement on Wednesday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 10 (Northern Mindanao) and the Police Regional Office (PRO) 10 said they conducted the operations in the villages of Lapasan and Carmen from Aug. 9 to 11.
The operations resulted in the arrest of six individuals and the confiscation of suspected shabu weighing 330 grams. Surveillance showed that the Lapasan location was a common site for illegal drug transactions and user gatherings.
Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon, PRO-10 director, stated that the arrested suspects would be given due process and face illegal drug charges. "I urge the public to remain vigilant and work hand-in-hand with us by reporting any suspicious activities in their communities," he said in an interview.
Meanwhile, the quick response team of the Cagayan de Oro City Police apprehended an illegal drug suspect in Barangay Canitoan on Wednesday afternoon. This was after police were tipped off that the suspect was live on social media, allegedly documenting his use of illegal drugs.
