Koreans, Taiwanese Raise Bar in PH Ladies Masters Golf


Santa Rosa: South Korean Hwang Yoona is setting her sights on back-to-back titles in the inaugural ICTSI Worldwide Link Philippine Ladies Masters at The Country Club course in Santa Rosa, Laguna starting Feb. 12. Yoona recently claimed victory at the Indonesian Open, surpassing her compatriot Cho Jeongmin, who will also compete in the USD200,000 event. The tournament features top talents from the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA), Taiwan LPGA, and Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT).



According to Philippines News Agency, the competition will see participation from notable golfers including Song Ga-eun, the 2021 KLPGA Rookie of the Year and two-time tour champion, and former national team standout Sohn Yebeen, who secured the 33rd spot in the KLPGA 2025 Regular Tour seed rankings. Additionally, 2024 Korean Dream Tour champion Park Ye-Ji and United States-based international tour player Yoo Dagyeom are set to join the event. Top qualifiers from the KLPGA 2025 International Qualifying Tournament, such as Japan’s Wakui Mayu and Aoi Mako, along with Thailand’s Chayanit Wangmahaporn, will also compete.



The tournament will also showcase talent from Thailand, including PK Kongkraphan, Saraporn Chamchoi, Chonlada Chayanun, Pakin Kawinpakorn, Ornnicha Konsunthea, Kamonwan Lueamsri, and Navaporn Soontreeyapas. Representing the TLPGA are Li Ning Wang, Chen Chih Min, Ching Huang, Chang Hsuan Ping, and Chang Yi Han.



Leading the Philippine team are Pauline del Rosario and Dottie Ardina, accompanied by top LPGT stars such as former Asia Pacific Cup champion Princess Superal, Daniella Uy, Mikha Fortuna, Florence Bisera, Mafy Singson, Harmie Constantino, LK Go, Chihiro Ikeda, Marvi Monsalve, Pamela Mariano, Kayla Nocum, Gretchen Villacencio, and comebacking Sunshine Baraquiel, along with Manila-based Korean Tiffany Lee.
