La Union Hosts Media Tour to Highlight 2nd District Tourism

Manila: The provincial government of La Union is set to host a media immersion tour on November 26-27, aiming to showcase the tourism potential and best practices within its second district. This initiative is part of a broader effort to bring attention to lesser-known attractions in the area.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mary Joy Castillo, the Media Affairs Officer, emphasized the intent behind the tour, stating that the first district's tourism attractions are more well-known, prompting the need to promote Governor Mario Eduardo Ortega's 'ridge to reef' project. This project is designed to introduce the diverse offerings of La Union's second district.

Justin Marbella, the supervising administrative officer, explained that the Agkasya Ronda tour seeks to engage media partners by taking them to key destinations that highlight local governments' best practices and emerging tourist attractions. The tour itinerary includes visits to the soft broom industry, Baguionas coffee production, Basi production demonstrations, a mangrove tour, and an immersion experience with local mushroom farmers.

Approximately 30 participants from La Union, Pangasinan, and Baguio City are expected to join the event, providing a platform for networking and collaboration among regional media representatives.
