Laguna: A bettor from Laguna secured the PHP57.6 million jackpot in Thursday night's Lotto 6/42.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced on Friday that the winning ticket belonged to a resident of Pila, Laguna, who correctly guessed the winning numbers 29-09-31-33-19-24. The lucky winner now has one year to claim the substantial prize at the PCSO main office located in Mandaluyong City.
Under current regulations established by the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, lotto winnings exceeding PHP10,000 will incur a 20-percent tax. In addition to the jackpot winner, there were 51 other bettors who each won PHP21,568.62 for correctly guessing five out of the six winning numbers. Furthermore, 2,147 bettors won PHP465.76 each for four correct digits, while 30,240 individuals will receive PHP20 each for three correct digits.
The 6/42 Lotto is regularly drawn on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, offering opportunities for participants to try their luck thrice a week. PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles has urged the public to continue supporting the agency's gaming products, emphasizing that proceeds are vital for funding health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities.
