Laoag: Night flight operations at Laoag International Airport resumed on Thursday after being suspended since Sunday due to damaged runway edge lights. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that repairs have been completed and the runway is now fully operational.

According to Philippines News Agency, CAAP stated that airport operations have returned to normal and regular flight schedules resumed effective Thursday, January 8, 2026. Passengers were advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates. Currently, Laoag airport handles three regular flights daily between Laoag City and Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, Ilocos Norte Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during the temporary suspension and reiterated the province's commitment to ensuring safe and efficient airport operations. The governor added that continuous upgrades to the airport's facilities and infrastructure are underway to further strengthen regional connectivity and support Laoag's role as a key gateway to Northern Luzon.
