Manila: The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will launch the digitalization of its frontline services beginning next month as part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive for the immediate shift of government services to digital.

According to Philippines News Agency, LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II stated that information technology experts are finalizing the development of a system that will enable online transactions with the LTFRB, starting with the confirmation of vehicles for public transportation. Mendoza emphasized the urgency of making all LTFRB transactions fast and comfortable for clients in the public land transportation sector.

The move towards full digitalization by the LTFRB comes less than two months after Mendoza took office. He highlighted that the urgency to improve services will ultimately benefit millions of Filipino commuters. Mendoza is actively monitoring the progress of the digitalization efforts, with the first phase involving the online transaction of all frontline offices nationwide set to launch next month.

The digitalization initiative follows a series of consultations with transport groups to address their primary concerns, including pending petitions and motions. The LTFRB has started consolidating 37,000 pending motions and petitions, some dating back two years, with the aim of resolving them before the year's end.
