Binalonan: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is set to open 20 additional offices following the recent inauguration of the Binalonan District Office in Pangasinan. This move is part of a broader initiative to enhance the LTO's operational capacity and efficiency.
According to Philippines News Agency, LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, announced the expansion and improvement plans after President Ferdinand R. Marcos signed 20 legislative measures aimed at boosting LTO operations. These developments are expected to reduce the time, effort, and financial burden for the public when dealing with the LTO. Mendoza emphasized the commitment to making government services more accessible and efficient for the public.
The improvements will not only streamline services but also increase the number of clients each office can handle, thereby reducing transaction times. New district offices are planned for locations including Pototan and San Dionisio in Iloilo, Padre Garcia in Batangas, Nabua in Camarines Sur, and Kalamansig in Sultan Kudarat. Additionally, several extension and satellite offices across the country will be transformed into district offices to further enhance service delivery.
Furthermore, significant upgrades are planned for existing offices. The Naga City District Office will be elevated to a Class A district office, while the Agoo, La Union office will be upgraded from Class C to Class B. Classification of district offices depends on transaction volumes and annual revenue collections, with Class A representing the highest tier.
Additional upgrades are also planned for the district offices in Lamut in Ifugao, Alaminos in Pangasinan, and Mati in Davao Oriental. The inauguration of the Binalonan District Office was led by Mendoza, who praised LTO-Region 1 Regional Director Glorioso Daniel Martinez for the effective establishment of this new facility.
Expressing gratitude, Mendoza thanked local officials including Pangasinan 5th District Rep. Ramon Guico Jr., Pangasinan Gov. Ramon Guico III, and Binalonan Mayor Ramon Ronald Guico IV for their support in securing a suitable location, donating land, and aiding the construction of the new office. These efforts are part of a broader mission to enhance the efficiency and reach of LTO services across the country.
