Madis, Aludo Advance to PHINMA-ITF 2nd Round with Dominant Wins

Makati city: Philippine Tennis Academy player Tennielle Madis stamped her class against South Korean Mi Na Lee, 6-1, 6-2, in the opening round of the J60 PHINMA International Junior Tennis Championships 2 at the Manila Polo Club shell court in Makati City on Wednesday. The top-seeded Filipino and world juniors No. 202 will face the winner between local wild card Sabine Dasha See and Australian Taylah Lessue.

According to Philippines News Agency, No. 6 seed Stefi Marithe Aludo and qualifier Jana Jelena Nicole Diaz also advanced to the next round. Aludo, who was the runner-up in the first leg last week, secured a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Swedish Christina Hansman. She is set to face Australian Ashlee Lessue, who defeated local wild card Arriana Reign Maglana with a 6-2, 6-3 scoreline.

Meanwhile, Diaz delivered a commanding performance by defeating Indian SR Dakshanasree, 6-0, 6-0. Her next opponent will be determined between No. 4 seed Chinese Yuhan Chen and Hong Kong's Han Frida Siu.

In other matches, third seed Taiwanese Yu-Ning Tsai defeated Korean Seojin Park, 6-0, 6-2. No. 7 Russian Elizaveta Nalesnik also progressed by outplaying Korean Seo-Youn Kim, 6-4, 7-5. Additionally, No. 8 Taiwanese Yen-Ni Chiang triumphed over local qualifier Lilith Macaria Rufino, 6-0, 6-0. Hong Kong's Hiu Lam Ella Wong advanced after a 6-2, 6-3 win over local wild card Sabine Dasha See, and Korean Rae Youn Kim overcame local qualifier Jayden Reece Ballado with scores of 0-6, 6-1, 6-2 to secure her place in the next round.
