Manila: Top seed Tennielle Madis dominated the second leg of the ITF J30 Manila tournament, clinching both the girls' singles and doubles titles at Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila over the weekend. The 18-year-old standout from M'lang, Cotabato overpowered third seed Park Seojin of South Korea, 6-4, 6-1, to secure the singles championship on Sunday.

According to Philippines News Agency, on Saturday, Madis paired with Stefi Marithe Aludo, beating second seeds Nam Gyuree and Park, 6-1, 6-4, for the doubles crown. "It's nice to win. I always give my best in every match," Madis, the 2025 PCA Open, Gentry Open, and Olivarez Open women's singles champion, said. Madis and Aludo, both members of the Philippine Tennis Academy (PTA) founded by sports patron Romy Chan, pocketed their ninth ITF Juniors title.

PTA head coach Bobie Angelo said the strong finish is a timely boost as the players head to the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand. "The girls have a solid mindset, a solid hungry spirit," he added. World No. 50 Alex Eala will spearhead the women's national team, joined by United States-based varsity players Shaira Hope Rivera and Alexa Joy Milliam.

Meanwhile, fifth seed Kango Endoh of Japan stunned No. 2 Chinese Gao Ruochen, 6-3, 6-2, to win his first singles title. Endoh, a former member of the national U14 squad, eliminated fourth seed Napal Pattanalertphan of Thailand, 6-1, 6-0, in the quarterfinal and top seed Do Gyeon of South Korea, 6-3, 7-5, in the semis. "I'm very happy. It was my best performance," the 15-year-old baseliner from Kanagawa Prefecture said.

Gao and Do later teamed up to secure the doubles title with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Thailand's Ariyaphol Leekul and Pattanalertphan.
