Manila: Malaca±ang on Tuesday welcomed the improvement in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s trust and performance ratings, saying he remains focused on governance regardless of survey results. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated that the President will continue working despite fluctuations in public approval.

According to Philippines News Agency, Castro emphasized the administration's commitment to its duties, noting the importance of public perception while underscoring that President Marcos will remain dedicated to his responsibilities. She expressed gratitude for the public's recognition of the government's efforts.

'Magandang nakikita po at nararamdaman ng taumbayan kung ano ang ginagawa ng gobyerno. Pero muli, sasabihin po natin, ang Pangulo kahit tumaas o bumaba ang kanyang approval ratings, patuloy pong magtatrabaho ang Pangulo (It is good that the people can see and feel what the government is doing. But we reiterate that whether his approval ratings go up or down, the President will continue to work),' Castro said.

She added that the administration is grateful that the public recognizes its efforts. The remarks came after OCTA Research released its Tugon ng Masa survey for the first quarter of 2026, which showed Marcos' trust rating at 54 percent, with 30 percent expressing distrust. His performance rating stood at 55 percent, up from 51 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025. His trust rating also improved from 48 percent in the same period.
