A drug personality yielded PHP1.4 million in suspected shabu during a sting operation at Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Monday night, the Bacolod City Police Office reported on Tuesday.

The suspect, Jeboy James Poneles, 21, a resident of Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, is tagged as a high-value individual.

Lt. Joven Mogato, chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, in a radio interview, said Poneles is a newly-identified drug personality, considering that young people are being used by drug syndicates as indicated in the arrests during operations.

Drug groups may be already starting to bring in supplies for the Masskara Festival in October, he added.

Around 8:35 p.m., the suspect sold PHP1,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Afterwhich, operatives seized from his possession two knot-tied and 16 plastic sachets of the prohibited substance.

The items weighed 206 grams with a standard drug price of PHP1.4 million.

Poneles is now detained at Police Station 8.

On Sunday night, operatives of Police Station 8 also seized some PHP4.318 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust at a residence in Barangay Pahanocoy.

They arrested suspect Ahzer Villarosa, 36, who is believed to be a warehouseman of a major drug personality
