Manila Identifies 64 ‘No Parking’ Zones Across City

Manila: The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) has unveiled a comprehensive list of areas designated as 'no parking' and 'absolute no parking' zones within the city. This initiative aims to alleviate the persistent traffic congestion that plagues the city streets.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) announced through a social media post that a total of 64 areas are now classified as no-parking zones. This decision aligns with a broader agreement among Metro Manila mayors to implement a uniform street parking ban on major roads, a measure expected to significantly ease traffic flow.

The delineation includes several key thoroughfares as "absolute no parking" zones. These include Pres. Quirino Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Taft Avenue, Magsaysay Blvd./Aurora Blvd., Rizal Avenue, Delpan, and 17 Mabuhay Lanes. These roads are critical to the city's transportation network, and the ban is intended to ensure their unimpeded use.

Additionally, numerous streets have been designated as "no parking zones." Among these are Agusto Francisco Street, Alfonso Mendoza St., Apacible St., Ayala Boulevard, Bacood St., Beata St., Blumentritt Road in Sampaloc, Carreon St., Dimasalang St., Estrada St., Fajardo St., and several others. The list also includes prominent roads such as the Osme±a Highway and United Nations Avenue, where parking restrictions are expected to improve traffic conditions.

The regulation extends to a host of other busy streets, including Maria Clara St., Moriones St., Natividad Lopez St., and numerous others, where parking is now prohibited. The comprehensive approach is part of a broader strategy to streamline traffic management across Manila.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), in its recent Metro Manila Council meeting, passed Regulation No. 25-001. This regulation not only prohibits parking on national primary roads but also restricts parking on secondary roads during peak hours, further supporting the city's efforts to enhance traffic flow across Manila's bustling streets.
