Marawi City and World Vision Celebrate Success in Child Protection Partnership.

Marawi City: Officials from Marawi City and World Vision Philippines on Thursday celebrated the "collective success" of their partnership in advancing child protection initiatives. Adonis Casinillo, project manager of World Vision Philippines, highlighted the achievements of the Urban Child Protection and Participation Project (UCPP), which focused on community and school-based interventions for children. According to Philippines News Agency, Casinillo expressed hope to emphasize the collective achievements, celebrate the partners involved, and affirm the commitment to sustaining the progress and gains that have been achieved. Rismirah Adap, Marawi City's social welfare and development officer, praised World Vision for its steadfast support through the city's challenges, including the 2017 siege and the Covid-19 pandemic. Adap noted, "That's why I call World Vision a family, not just a partner of the local government unit of Marawi." In line with the Bangsamoro Children's Month celebration, the Ministry of Social Services and Development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MSSD-BARMM) extended support to 81 children of persons deprived of liberty at Marawi City Jail. The MSSD-BARMM facilitated a brief reunion between these children and their jailed parents on Nov. 14, an initiative backed by the Bangsamoro Regional Subcommittee for the Welfare of Children and the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council.
