Marcos Hails Competitive UAAP Finals, DLSU Championship

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauded Wednesday the great display of competition during the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men's basketball finals series between the University of the Philippines (UP) and De La Salle University (DLSU).

According to Philippines News Agency, President Marcos congratulated the DLSU Green Archers for clinching the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball championship, noting the title as well-deserved for the team's strong performance. In a Facebook post, he expressed his admiration, saying, "A great UAAP basketball finals series between UP and La Salle. Well played to all."

The President further extended his congratulations to the victorious team, stating, "Congratulations to the UAAP Basketball Champions, the De La Salle Green Archers! A well-deserved championship for a great team." In a gesture of tribute, Marcos concluded his message with the traditional cheer, "Hail, hail, Alma Mater," honoring the Green Archers' institution.

The Green Archers emerged victorious over the defending champions UP Fighting Maroons with a score of 80-72 in Game 3 of the Season 88 finals, held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao. With this victory, DLSU has secured a total of 11 championships in their history.
