Albay: Philippine Navy personnel and their dependents are set to benefit from a newly renovated medical and dental dispensary turned over by the SM Foundation to the Naval Forces Southern Luzon (Navforsol), aimed at improving their healthcare access and system. During the turnover ceremony, Vice Admiral Jose Ma. Ambrocio Ezpeleta emphasized the significance of the upgraded facility, which will serve over 500 Philippine Navy personnel and their dependents at the Naval Station Julhasan Arasain (NSJA).
According to Philippines News Agency, Vice Admiral Ezpeleta highlighted the dispensary as a crucial resource for ensuring the health and well-being of the personnel. "This facility can be seen as a sanctuary of hope, where one can receive care and healing from illness. It will provide comfort to many. Let us all take care of these facilities and not waste the opportunity presented to us," said Ezpeleta, underscoring the importance of accessible healthcare services.
Engineer John Jason Terrenal, SM Supermalls senior assistant vice president for the South division, detailed the significant renovations and expansions undertaken at the NSJA. "We improved the layout by creating dedicated sections specifically for medical and dental services," he explained. The dispensary now includes specialized areas for operations, preventive services, radiography, infection control, consultations, storage, minor surgeries, and a pharmacy.
Terrenal further emphasized the broader impact of these initiatives, stating, "From education and disaster response to livelihood and community development, as well as health and medical programs, these initiatives have a profound impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals." He reiterated that for the SM Foundation, the renovations are a lifeline, offering not just medical care but also hope and dignity to those in need.
