MELAKA TO INTRODUCE I-CEMAS APP TO REDUCE CONGESTION AT MELAKA HOSPITAL

General

MELAKA, The Melaka Health Department will introduce the i-Cemas application by the end of August or early September to reduce patient congestion at Melaka Hospital, the State Legislative Assembly sitting was told today. Member of the State Executive Council Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said the application will provide individuals in need of early treatment with real-time updates on patient numbers at Melaka Hospital's Emergency and Trauma Department. 'When a patient wishes to come to the hospital, they can access the application and check (for instance), if there are still 100 patients waiting, they can then enter their symptoms, and we will determine the urgency of their condition. 'Through the application, we also have a live chat box for direct interaction with paramedics. Paramedics can provide advice and coordinate visits to the hospital or other health clinics,' he said in reply to a question from Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali (BN-Lendu) regarding measures taken to reduce congestion at Melaka Hospital. He r esponded to the question on behalf of State Health, Human Resources and Unity Committee chairman Ngwe Hee Sem. Elaborating, Dr Muhamad Akmal said that the application also allows users to locate health clinics near their homes. 'For instance, in the Sungai Rambai state constituency, we might suggest visiting the Sungai Rambai Health Clinic before heading to Melaka Hospital. This would help reduce congestion at the hospital.
