MILF Chairman Celebrates Victory in Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections

Cotabato city: Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chairman and United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) President Ahod Balawag Ebrahim has lauded the successful conduct of the first Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE) after emerging victorious.

According to Philippines News Agency, Ebrahim, also known as Al Haj Murad in the MILF, expressed hope that the BPE will lead to a united Bangsamoro leadership that protects peace, promotes welfare, and builds a just, peaceful homeland for future generations. Ebrahim, who was proclaimed Tuesday night as the UBJP's No. 1 nominee, stated that the electoral outcome marks another significant milestone in the Bangsamoro struggle.

Ebrahim emphasized the transformation of decades of sacrifice, perseverance, and steadfast pursuit of self-determination into a democratic mandate for the MILF leadership. He noted that the electoral process represents not an end to the struggle, but a new chapter in advancing the aspirations of the Bangsamoro through peaceful, democratic, and principled political engagement.

Following the historic first BPE, the Commission on Elections officially announced that the UBJP secured 15 seats in the Bangsamoro Parliament and won decisively among its sectoral candidates for youth, women, Ulama, traditional leaders, and settler communities.
