A Malaysian Games Carnival (SUKMA Carnival) will be held this month in conjunction with the 2024 Sarawak Malaysia Games (SUKMA XXI), according to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry, and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED). In a statement today, MINTRED said the carnival involves entrepreneurs selling food and beverages and products of small and medium enterprises at all the sporting venues such as Dataran Perayaan Petra Jaya, Sibu Indoor Stadium, and Miri Stadium. 'Various activities have been planned, including cultural performances, tourism product promotions, karaoke contests, cooking and product demonstrations, colouring contests, and more,' read the statement. SUKMA XXI will be held in Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu, and Miri from Aug 17 to 24. The games involve 37 types of sports and 488 events with 12,619 athletes and officials, marking the third time Sarawak will be hosting SUKMA after the 1990 and 2016 editions.
