The members of the public are invited to participate in the 6,600 Langkah Perpaduan (Steps of Unity) programme on July 16 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya here in conjunction with the launch of 2023 National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang (national flag) campaign.
The event, which starts at 6.30 am, is divided into two categories, namely a five-kilometre fun run and a 1.5-kilometre fun walk.
According to the Merdeka360 Facebook page, people who wish to participate in the programme can register by scanning the code QR or at www.merdeka360.my. Registration is free.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to launch the 2023 National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign at 9 am.
Various interesting events will also be held from July 15, including Jualan Rahmah (Rahmah Sale), grocery and fruit sales, government exhibitions and services, a nationality quiz, singing and cultural performances, the Bintang Patriotic competition, food trucks and more.
There will also be a Perdana Hal Ehwal Islam on Merdeka Legacy forum on July 15 at 9 pm, and the Jalur Gemilang Merdeka Campaign 2023, which starts on July 16.
Meanwhile, on July 16, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to flag off the Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2023 convoy in conjunction with the celebration after completing officiating the opening events.
This convoy will go to all corners of the country with the aim of further enlivening the celebration of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2023 campaign.
KMJG 2023 targets a total of 66 participant vehicles at each checkpoint, signifying the celebration of the 66th year of the country's independence.
