KUALA LUMPUR, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin received a courtesy call today from Thales International chief executive officer Pascale Sourisse, accompanied by a delegation, at the Ministry of Defence. Mohamed Khaled, in a Facebook post, said that one of the key topics discussed was the enhancement of the local defence industry's capabilities in line with the country's current push for self-reliance. 'Thales is a leading French multinational company in the aerospace, defence and security sectors. 'I believe that achieving our goals can be supported by global industry players through initiatives such as technology transfer and the Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP),' he said. 'It is hoped that the strong relationship established over the years will continue to evolve, providing benefits for the country's defence industry,' he added. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
