More Skeletal Fragments Recovered from Taal Lake in Search for Missing Cockfight Enthusiasts

Batangas: More human skeletal fragments have been recovered in the ongoing search for the missing cockfight enthusiasts in Taal Lake, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez reported that 25 pieces of human skeletal remains were recovered on November 6, while 26 pieces were recovered on November 18. On November 17, six pieces of bone were recovered, along with garments, including black pants with a black belt, underwear, and a piece of cut wheat flour cloth.

The Philippine Coast Guard and law enforcement personnel have been systematically scouring areas of Taal Lake after whistleblower Julie 'Dondon' Patidongan claimed that more than 100 bodies of 'sabungeros' were dumped in the lake.
