PUTRAJAYA, The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) celebrated the excellent achievement of the country’s takaful industry players at the first-ever Takaful Star Awards 2023 (TSA 2023) held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, today.
MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said the event aimed at recognising the contributions and commitment of takaful managers and agents.
“The awards are to celebrate all Takaful managers and agents who have been the backbone in the effort to raise public awareness on the importance of takaful as life protection for individuals, families and communities,” he told Bernama.
Mohd Radzuan presented FWD Takaful Berhad with the award under the Direction Distribution Channel-Family category, the Best Takaful Operator General Takaful Business award to Etiqa General Takaful Berhad and the Best Takaful Operator Quality Business award to AIA PUBLIC Takaful Bhd.
He said TSA 2023 was held in conjunction with the Takaful Leaders and Agents Summit 2023 (TLAS 2023) as part of the efforts to strengthen the takaful industry and in line with the goal set by Bank Negara for the industry to contribute a five per cent growth to the country’s Gross Domestic Product according to the Financial Sector Blueprint 2022-2026.
MTA’s Family Takaful Distribution Channel chairman Shahrul Azlan Shahriman said the summit sought to encourage participants to explore new opportunities and work hard to achieve excellence as leaders, agency managers and takaful agents.
“TLAS 2023 is not just about professionalism as it also discusses shaping future leadership that will contribute to society to ensure excellence and a sustainable future for the takaful industry,” he said.
“TLAS 2023 with the slogan ‘Beyond All Limit’ is in line with the initiatives undertaken by MTA to assess the commitment of takaful industry players and outline the potential of leaders, agency managers and insurance agents,” he said, adding the programme was held to ignite their spirits to strive in the efforts to raise public awareness on the importance of takaful protection.
Attended by 700 participants, TLAS 2023 also convened Takaful operators’ top management and Islamic financial industry experts in Malaysia who participated in various sessions such as CEO Power Talk, motivational talks, Million Dollar Round Table sharing and more.
