MVP Group and PNVF Seal Partnership for FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025

Manila: The MVP Group, led by chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan, has formalized its steadfast support for the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) in hosting the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship Philippines 2025, scheduled from September 12 to 28.

According to Philippines News Agency, the partnership was solidified by Pangilinan and PNVF president Ramon 'Tats' Suzara at the Lighthouse in Meralco Building, Ortigas. This collaboration marks another strategic alliance between the two entities, following their joint success in hosting the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2023. Pangilinan expressed his enthusiasm for promoting the Philippines as a prime destination for sports and tourism, bringing in companies like PLDT, Smart, Meralco, Metro Pacific Investments, Cignal, and mWell to back the PNVF.

PLDT, a leading telecommunications network in the country, will be the official broadband internet partner, while Cignal TV will act as the official broadcast partner for this historic volleyball event. Suzara highlighted the significance of the MVP Group's support, emphasizing the shared vision of enhancing the sport and inspiring athletes and fans nationwide.

In 2023, Suzara played a pivotal role as the chief implementer of the FIBA World Cup organizing committee, working alongside Pangilinan, then-chairman emeritus of the host federation Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. Now, with Suzara at the helm of the PNVF, and with Pangilinan's support, the focus shifts to establishing the Philippines as a hub for world-class sports events, starting with the 32-nation men's volleyball tournament.

Alas Pilipinas, ranked 57th globally, is set to make its comeback on the world stage for the first time since the 1971 edition in Mexico. Pangilinan also expressed hopes for the Philippines to become known as a sporting nation, with plans to host future women's events as well.

The collaboration between PNVF and MVP Group follows the federation's announcement of K-Pop boy group BOYNEXTDOOR as the headliner for the opening ceremony on September 12. Additionally, Honda has been named as a major partner, alongside MVP Group, with Alas stars Bryan Bagunas and Eya Laure serving as official ambassadors.

Indie pop-folk band Ben and Ben will be the official music partner, with their song "Triumph" as the event's theme song. As the PNVF gears up for the 100-day countdown in June, preparations are well underway, with plans for promotional events like the Trophy Tour, International Road Show, Mascot Contest, and more, both locally and internationally.
