SEREMBAN, The Negeri Sembilan contingent is almost ready for the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Sarawak, which will take place from Aug 17 to 24. State Youth and Sports Development Committee chairman Mustapha Nagoor said the 500-strong contingent is now in the 'cooling down' phase before leaving for Sarawak. “We’re almost there. All the teams have been playing a lot of friendly matches lately. Now, they are in the cooling down stage, resting and focusing more on mental preparation, technique, and so on. We don't want them to suffer injuries at the last minute,” said Mustapha, who is also the chef de mission. “Our gold medal target remains at 20 for now. If everything goes well, we can go far and achieve even more,” he told reporters after witnessing the signing of a memorandum of agreement between Negeri Sembilan Football Club (NSFC) and Jant Marketing Sdn Bhd (Jantzen) as the club's official drinking water partner for this season. NSFC chief executive officer Faliq Firdaus and his Jantzen counterpart Calvin Yee Jong Hoe signed on behalf of their organisations. Sukma 2024 will be held in nine divisions, namely Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri, featuring 488 events in 37 sports. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
