Philippine army: Philippine Army (PA) commander Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete on Thursday expressed support for the continuing modernization of the Army's medical service, noting that health care is a "strategic necessity."
According to Philippines News Agency, Nafarrete emphasized that military healthcare is a crucial component of the armed forces. He stated, "Military healthcare is not merely a supportive function; it is a strategic necessity. Every life you save, every wound you heal, and every preventive health measure you implement strengthens the spine of our fighting force."
In addition to backing the ongoing modernization of the PA health service, Nafarrete pledged to further professionalize and develop personnel assigned to this vital unit. His commitment reflects the importance of enhancing the capabilities and efficiency of military medical services.
The Army commander was the guest of honor during the recognition ceremony for exemplary PA medical personnel and units at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on June 30. The ceremony, themed "Enhancing Military Health Service and Strategic Partnership for National Security," celebrated the awardees' clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and compassion in caring for troops and their dependents.
