Cagayan de oro: Alexis Nailga displayed his brilliant form again in the ICTSI Junior PGT Series on Thursday, dominating the premier boys' 15-18 division at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club in Cagayan de Oro. The 16-year-old from Bukidnon carded a 73 to win by seven strokes. 'It's a great feeling to score a three-peat. I now have a strong chance of making it to the national finals,' Nailga, who also won the Del Monte and Mactan legs, said.

According to Philippines News Agency, Nailga had a 36-37 round and a 54-hole total of five-over 221. CDO's Armand Copok fired a three-under 69 to finish second at 228, while Zamboanga's Mhark Fernando III placed third at 229 after a 75. Korean Eric Jeon was fourth with a 76 for a 230 total, edging Fawzi Espinosa, who had a 77 and finished with the same 14-over total, via countback.

In the girls division, homegrown talent Ally Gaccion carded a six-under 66 to beat Del Monte rivals Crista Mi±oza and Zero Plete by 17 strokes. 'My putter was really on fire, and I was hitting my approach shots close to the pin. I actually struggled with my driving, but I managed to save pars right from the first hole," the 18-year-old Gaccion said.

The Mindanao swing continues with the third leg on July 9 to 11 at the South Pacific Golf Club, followed by the final stop on July 14 to 16 at Apo Golf and Country Club, both in Davao. The Visayas Series, which had its second and third legs cancelled due to the Mount Kanlaon eruption, resumes on Sept. 15 to 17 at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club, followed by the Sept. 18 to 20 leg at Bacolod Golf and Country Club in Binitin, Murcia. The Luzon Series, on the other hand, will hold its last three legs at Riviera Golf and Country Club (July 29 to 31), Pradera Verde in Lubao, Pampanga (Aug. 12 to 14) and Pinewoods Golf and Country Club in Baguio (Aug. 19 to 21).
