National Day: Negeri Sembilan To Host Kembara Akar Umbi On Aug 30

SEREMBAN, A convoy of 300 motorcycles and cars will traverse seven districts in Negeri Sembilan, covering a distance of 300 kilometres in the Kembara Akar Umbi Negeri Sembilan (grassroots tour) on Aug 30, in celebration of National Day. Senior state executive councillor Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias ??said that the journey will commence in Seremban with the goal of fostering a sense of patriotism within the community and enhancing this year's National Day festivities. 'Each checkpoint along the route will feature activities celebrating independence, particularly aimed at engaging the local community and youth. This will include fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign,' he explained. 'We will gather at 8 am at Kampung Pantai Seremban before proceeding to Pantai Cahaya Negeri Port Dickson. The journey will continue to Rembau, where we will perform Friday prayers at Masjid As-Syakirin, and then to Tampin,' he added. The convoy of 250 motorcycles and 50 cars will then head to Dataran Tebat Kering in Kuala Pilah, and f inally to Jempol, culminating in a lively closing event at Dataran Jam in Kuala Klawang, Jelebu, scheduled for 9 pm. Jalaluddin, who is also the Jelebu Member of Parliament, emphasised that the journey aims to enhance participants' and the public's appreciation of the significance of independence while boosting confidence and support for the MADANI Government's programmes and policies. He said that the event will involve various government agencies, including the Youth and Sports Department, the Royal Malaysia Police, and the Negeri Sembilan Tourism Board. 'We hope that the people of Negeri Sembilan will appreciate the blessings of independence and uphold the spirit of unity, peace, and well-being,' he said, adding that the day's activities would include the Jamuan Rakyat (people's feast) and the Rahmah Sale.
