NATIONAL MONTH: KMJG 2023 CONVOY CONTINUES JOURNEY IN MELAKA

The 2023 Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) convoy will continue its 106-kilometre journey in the state tomorrow to further enliven this year’s National Month celebration.

State Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communications Committee chairman Fairul Nizam Roslan said the convoy of 66 vehicles from various government agencies and departments will pass through three stopovers starting at the Sungai Rambai Rest & Services (R&R) southbound stop before proceeding to Pantai Puteri and Dataran Keris Alor Gajah.

“Various interesting activities will be held to raise the patriotic spirit among the community, including colouring competitions, folk sports and quizzes on nationalism besides the distribution of the Jalur Gemilang to the public.

“Patriotic performances through the presentation of poetry and songs will also be held in addition to the convoy celebrating the country’s national warriors with a presentation of Sumbangan Kasih Patriotik,” he said in Sungai Rambai.

Earlier, he flagged off the 2023 KMJG convoy and witnessed the handover of the Jalur Gemilang by the Johor Information Department (JaPen) director Naim Fahmi Ahmad Tajuddin to the Melaka JaPen director Shahrom Ravin Daram Abdullah.

In the meantime, Fairul Nizam also called on the people of Melaka to fly the Jalur Gemilang as an expression of love for the country in conjunction with the National Day celebration.

“At the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) level, efforts to mobilise the public’s awareness to fly the Jalur Gemilang have started so that the campaign reaches the grassroots, both in the city or in the rural areas,” he said.

Tomorrow, the 2023 KMJG convoy will start at Sungai Rambai R&R and the Jalur Gemilang will be handed over to Negeri Sembilan representatives at Dataran Kampung Tengah in Gemencheh.
