Sibalom: Faithful of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) Diocese of Antique gathered to celebrate the Feast of the Nazarene in the municipality of Sibalom, where they were urged to carry the cross as a sign of their true devotion. Fr. Franklin Zerrudo, during his homily at the Friday mass, emphasized that the Nazarene symbolizes Jesus Christ, who was burdened and parched while carrying the heavy cross during his crucifixion.

According to Philippines News Agency, Fr. Zerrudo highlighted that the cross represents personal struggles such as sickness and joblessness, which the Nazarene bears alongside the faithful. He conveyed that just as Jesus carried the cross out of love for humanity, devotees should also embrace their burdens as a testament to their devotion and a path to salvation.

Meanwhile, devotees shared testimonies of blessings received through their devotion. Joji A±overt, owner of one of the two Nazarene images present at the procession in Sibalom, recounted acquiring the four-foot wooden image while working in Hong Kong in the 1970s. She expressed gratitude for the granted prayers concerning her only son, now a seafarer, stating, "I think I have nothing more to ask from the Nazarene, but to thank him for all the blessings."

Another caretaker, Ben Villasor, attributed the Nazarene's influence to his godson, Mark Vagilidad, securing employment with the Philippine Coast Guard and meeting his wife, Charlene. Vagilidad had prayed at the Nazarene in Quiapo in 2019 for both a job and a life partner, and both prayers were answered. "Every year, we always make sure that the Nazarene is being prepared for his feast," Villasor stated, adding that he prays for good health to continue serving the church.
