NCRPO Arrests 3,555 Drug Suspects, Seizes P112M in Illegal Drugs in Three Months

Manila: A total of 3,555 drug suspects were arrested and approximately P112 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) from August 26 to November 25, 2025. This operation was part of a directive from Acting Chief of the Philippine National Police, Lt. Gen. José Melencio Nartatez Jr., aiming to intensify law enforcement operations against criminality and illegal drugs. According to Philippines News Agency, the confiscated items included 15.48 kilograms of shabu, 8.05 kilograms of dried marijuana, and other high-value substances totaling PHP112.7 million. Alongside the drug arrests, the NCRPO apprehended 3,667 individuals with standing warrants of arrest during the same period, which included 1,413 most wanted persons and 2,264 others. In addition, 5,134 illegal gambling suspects were arrested, and PHP946,571.75 worth of illegal gambling paraphernalia and cash bets were confiscated. The NCRPO's efforts against loose firearms led to 641 operations, resulting in the arrest of 655 violators and the confiscation of 667 unlicensed firearms. The NCRPO also recorded 2,986,022 violators of local ordinances, resulting in PHP765 million in penalties across Metro Manila. Efforts against cybercrime saw five incidents logged and seven arrests made. Major crime categories showed reductions, with significant decreases in murder, rape, special complex crimes, and carnapping of motor vehicles, reflecting the success of intelligence-driven interventions against high-impact offenses. The NCRPO processed 248 administrative cases, resolving 179 with a 72.18 percent case-resolution efficiency and zero backlog. Disciplinary actions included the dismissal of 29 officers, demotion of nine, suspension of 64, forfeiture of salary for four, fines for four, and reprimands for 32. The NCRPO now maintains 2,081 serviceable mobility assets, 28,320 short firearms, 12,322 long firearms, and thousands of radios and communication units. In terms of community engagement, the NCRPO recorded 674 i nterfaith and intercultural dialogues, 603 religious and cultural solidarity activities, 1,025 partnership initiatives, and 872 counter-radicalization engagements across Metro Manila. Grassroots engagement efforts led to the updating of 1,955 barangay contact lists, mobilization of 3,275 BPATS and tanods, 2,901 community mobilization activities, and 1,516 drug-prevention lectures, supported by hundreds of inspections and assistance operations. Meanwhile, in Central Visayas, the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) achieved a 99.70 percent conviction rate in drug-related cases from January 1 to November 26, 2025, under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
