New Calabarzon Police Chief Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky Assumes Leadership Amidst Ceremony

Manila: Camp Vicente P. Lim: Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 1992, officially took the helm as Director of Police Regional Office-Calabarzon (PRO-4A) during the turnover of command ceremony in Camp Vicente P. Lim here Friday. From PRO-Western Visayas, Wanky succeeded Brig. Gen. Kenneth Lucas, who led PRO-4A for 18 months and will now be the Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

According to Philippines News Agency, the ceremony was presided over by Deputy Chief for Administration Lt. Gen. Melencio Nartatez Jr., who represented PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III. In his address, Nartatez emphasized the importance of stable and focused leadership, urging all police officers to uphold the PNP's 'Three Pillars' -- Swift and Responsive Public Service; Unity and Morale Within the Ranks; and Accountability and Modernization.

In his acceptance speech, Wanky expressed his full support for the chief PNP's Three Pillars and his commitment to not only meet but exceed the standards set by his predecessor. He pledged to sustain PRO-4A's reputation as one of the top-performing regions by further strengthening operational capabilities and intensifying the campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, and insurgency.

Moreover, Wanky committed to promoting police discipline, professionalism, and transparency, alongside strengthening partnerships with community stakeholders and the public. A native of Buguias, Benguet, Wanky's previous assignments included roles as PNPA Chief of Staff, NCRPO Deputy Regional Director for Operations, and PNP Aviation Security Group Director.
