KUALA LUMPUR, Newly appointed Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar met with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today. Shamsul Azri posted on Facebook today, stating that he had benefited from listening to the Prime Minister speak about the reformation of the civil service, strengthening governance and the strategic public-private synergy. 'I stated my full commitment to undertake this duty together with the entire civil service,' he posted. Shamsul Azri, a former Public-Private Partnership Unit director-general, was appointed as the 16th Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia effective today, replacing Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, whose service contract ended on Aug 10.
