CEBU CITY: The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has issued a warning to consumers about impending power outages in select areas of Cebu province from November 25 to December 1 due to scheduled maintenance activities. According to the NGCP's advisory, the outages will impact consumers within the Cebu Electric Cooperative (Cebeco) 1 and 3 service areas. According to Philippines News Agency, on November 30, there will be a power interruption in the Cebeco 1 service area from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. This outage is due to the necessary repair work on the Samboan Substation, which will affect the 69KV Line of the Samboan-Ginatilan Feeder. Additionally, the Cebeco 3 service area will experience a power outage on December 1, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cebeco 1's service area includes the city of Carcar and 17 municipalities in the southern part of Cebu province. Meanwhile, Cebeco 3 services the municipalities of Aloguinsan and Asturias, as well as the western city of Toledo. Furthermore, certain villages in Cebu City, Talisay, and the town of Minglanilla are also serviced by Cebeco 3. The NGCP has indicated that the maintenance activities will involve replacing electric poles, line insulators, and line hardware along the Calong Calong-Asturias 69KV line.
