MANILA-- The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) on Friday morning began realigning Tower 34 of its BiAan-Muntinlupa 230-kV line in Alabang, which was recently damaged by a fire. Repair work on the tower's foundation is underway.
According to an NGCP news release, the realignment is being done with the help of two cranes to set the tower at its temporary location at the rightmost lane of the Alabang Exit.
The NGCP said it is coordinating with the Manila Toll Expressway System and local traffic management offices in repairing the tower.
It also sought the help of local governments in removing all structures that violate right-of-way clearances, as they not only disrupt transmission functions but threaten the safety of people in the area as well.
