Manila: Full restoration of power transmission lines in Luzon affected by Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) was completed Friday night following the normalization of the La Trinidad-Sagada 69-kiloVolt (kV) line. In an 8 p.m. advisory, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the La Trinidad-Sagada 69kV line was restored at around 7:16 p.m.

According to Philippines News Agency, the NGCP confirmed that transmission services in all areas affected by Super Typhoon Uwan are now under normal operations. The NGCP has assured the public that it is continuously monitoring weather disturbances and is ready to activate its Overall Command Center (OCmC) should there be any threat to its transmission facilities.

The Department of Energy (DOE) earlier said full restoration of Uwan-affected transmission lines was expected within a month. However, officials assured the public that all measures were being undertaken to expedite the process. Provinces badly hit by Uwan include the Mountain Province, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur, DOE officials stated.
