NHA E. Visayas Launches Condonation Program for Delinquent Housing Accounts

Tacloban city: The National Housing Authority (NHA) in Eastern Visayas has launched its condonation program aimed at providing financial relief to housing beneficiaries with delinquent accounts, allowing them to restructure their loans and secure ownership of their homes.

According to Philippines News Agency, the initiative, implemented under Memorandum Circular No. 2025-075 or the Socialized and Low-Cost Housing Loan Restructuring and Condonation Program, covers beneficiaries with outstanding residential accounts or housing loans with cumulative arrearages equivalent to at least three monthly amortizations as of May 1, 2025.

Silverio Gempeson Jr., officer-in-charge of NHA Leyte I District Office, stated that the program grants 100 percent condonation of penalties and delinquency charges and 95 percent condonation of unpaid interest. Gempeson noted that this program aims to ease the financial burden on families struggling to keep up with loan payments, offering beneficiaries a second chance to settle their housing obligations and secure ownership of their homes.

The program covers beneficiaries from several NHA housing projects such as the Kadungganan Village Project, Fisherman's Village, Cancabato Ville, Sangyaw Village AFP/PNP Housing Project in Tacloban City; and Palo Housing Project in Palo, Leyte. Interested applicants are advised to personally visit the NHA Leyte I District Office in Sagkahan in this city to request individual account computations and verify eligibility for the program.

The deadline for submission of applications is on Oct. 31, 2025. The NHA reiterated that the condonation program forms part of its continuing effort to promote affordable homeownership and provide financial stability for low-income families in government housing projects.
