Sydney: No Filipino has been reported dead or injured from the terror attack in Bondi Beach in Sydney over the weekend, the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney said Monday. The Consulate confirmed that it has coordinated with the New South Wales Police Protection Operations Unit, which advised that, as of this time, there are no indications that Filipino nationals are among the confirmed fatalities or injured.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Consulate condoled with the families of those killed, the injured, and the communities affected by the terror attack during a Hanukkah community event on December 14. At least 16 people have died and 40 remain hospitalized following the shooting. A child was among the victims.

In an advisory, the Consulate said it stands in solidarity with the victims and the broader community as authorities continue to respond to the incident. While extending sympathies, the Consulate urged members of the Filipino community in Australia to remain vigilant and to strictly follow the guidance of the New South Wales Police and emergency services.
