Manila: The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced on Thursday that there is currently no official or approved design for the New Naga Airport. This announcement comes amid the circulation of purported architectural images of the airport online.
According to Philippines News Agency, CAAP clarified that the images being shared on the internet, which are being presented as the official design of the New Naga Airport Development Project, are not legitimate. These images were identified as originating from a student project and have no connection to CAAP or the actual project.
CAAP expressed appreciation for the public's interest in the development of the airport but emphasized that the official design has yet to be finalized or approved. The authority advised the public to seek updates and information solely through CAAP's official channels to ensure accuracy.
The initial phase of the New Naga Airport Development Project, which includes earthworks and site preparation, is scheduled to commence in September. This project aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to enhance and strengthen the country's regional airports.
