North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza assured senior citizens in the province of free medicine and hospitalization services.

“Senior citizens play an important role in society and deserve to be provided not only respect but also what they need,” Mendoza said in a statement Tuesday.

Mendoza led the oath-taking of newly-elected officers of the 121,000-strong Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (FSCAP)- Cotabato Provincial Chapter at the provincial capitol Monday.

“My administration will do what it can to ensure that the elderly in the province are provided the care and services they need,” she said.

LeonardoSungcaya, FSCAP-North Cotabato provincial chapter head, hailed Mendoza for her administration’s welfare program for the elderly.

Also present during the oath-taking were former mayors Vicente Sorupia of Aleosan and Eliseo Garcesa Jr. of Pigcawayan, and former provincial board member Onofre Respicio.

Mendoza won a new three-year term against Nancy Catamco in the recent elections after serving as vice governor since 2019.
