Normalcy in Israel Returning; Embassy Recommends Lowering Alert – DFA

Tel Aviv: The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv has now recommended the lowering of the alert level in Israel, which is currently under the repatriation phase, as the country returns to normalcy following its 12-day military campaign against Iran.

According to Philippines News Agency, Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Germinia Aguilar-Usudan stated in an interview with reporters that there is a recommendation to lower the alert level to 2 for Israel. However, the final decision requires the approval of the secretary. Alert level 2 indicates a restriction phase, where new deployments are still prohibited.

Aguilar-Usudan mentioned that completely removing the alert level is unlikely at the moment as it needs to be a gradual process, allowing time to observe how the situation evolves. She expressed hope that the ceasefire deal between Israel and Iran would hold, emphasizing the global desire for peace after recent difficulties experienced in the Middle East.

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo Jose De Vega noted that both Philippine Ambassador to Israel Aileen Mendiola and Philippine Ambassador to Iran Roberto Manalo are reporting a return to normalcy in their respective areas. Israel has officially ended its state of emergency after declaring a 'historic victory' in its Operation Rising Lion, which targeted several Iranian nuclear sites from June 13 to 24.

The Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command has lifted all restrictions on schools, public gatherings, and workplaces, signaling a return to regular activities in the country.
