Cagayan de oro: The Department of Science and Technology in Northern Mindanao (DOST-10) is poised to infuse emerging technologies into the businesses of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). During the opening of the Region 10 Science and Technology Week (RSTW) on Wednesday, DOST-10 Director Romela Ratilla said innovations in grassroots MSMEs include adapting to artificial intelligence-powered business solutions.
According to Philippines News Agency, the RSTW showcased the potential of science and technology in transforming MSMEs. A key moment during the open forum involved three businesses expressing their commitment to support and adopt emerging technologies presented by innovators, signaling strong private sector interest in science-driven solutions.
"We make sure that these innovations are economically viable so we can support up to the level that these [innovations] can be brought to the market, to generate jobs, employment, and generate income for the mentors, innovators, and even the community," Ratilla stated.
