OCD to Launch ‘Panatag Pilipinas 2.0’ Risk Communication Campaign

Makati city: The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) will launch the 'Panatag Pilipinas Launch 2.0 from Online to Onscreen' on July 1 in observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM). This initiative is a risk-communication advocacy campaign focused on disaster preparedness, as announced in a news release.

According to Philippines News Agency, this year's NDRM theme, "KUMIKILOS para sa Kahandaan, Kaligtasan, at Katatagan," underscores the Filipino people's collective commitment to strengthening resilience across all levels of society. The campaign's core message, 'Alam ng Pinoy ang Dapat Gawin Para Maging Ligtas sa Panahon ng Sakuna,' emphasizes the shared responsibility and commitment to safety during calamities, aiming for a safer and disaster-resilient nation.

Originally launched as an online advocacy, 'Panatag Pilipinas' is now expanding its reach to everyday spaces, reinforcing its life-saving message. Following its successful digital debut last year, "Panatag Pilipinas" is entering a new phase-Launch 2.0-by bringing its message of safety and resilience to public screens in malls and cinemas nationwide.

The program marks a significant milestone through the partnership between the World Bank, the OCD, and Ayala Foundation, Inc., significantly broadening the campaign's influence and reinforcing national resilience. The event's guest-of-honor and speaker is National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) chair and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. The activity will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Activity Center, Ayala Malls Circuit, Makati City.
