Oil Prices Up by as Much as P2/L Tuesday

Manila: Fuel prices will increase by as much as PHP2 per liter effective Oct. 28. In separate advisories Monday, Jetti Petroleum, PTT Philippines, and Petron announced they will increase gasoline products by PHP1.20 per liter and diesel by PHP2 per liter effective 6 a.m.

According to Philippines News Agency, Seaoil will also hike the price of its kerosene product by PHP1.70 per liter at the same time. Caltex, in turn, will increase gasoline prices by PHP1.20 per liter, diesel by PHP2 per liter, and kerosene by PHP1.70 per liter effective 6:01 a.m.

This marks the fourth consecutive week that gasoline prices will rise, but it is the first increase for both diesel and kerosene following a decline last week. An oil firm official had forecasted this across-the-board rise in fuel prices due to increased demand and geopolitical concerns.
