Only one out of 21 villages in San Juan City has active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases as of Monday, according to its city government.

The latest data from the city government showed a total of 21,257 confirmed Covid-19 cases have been recorded, with 20,892 individuals recovered from the disease and 363 died.

In a social media post, Mayor Francis Zamora said the city’s active cases reached 1,927—when infections spiked due to the emergence of Omicron Covid-19 variant in the country.

Zamora, however, said due to strict observance of the residents to the public minimum health protocols and the local government’s massive vaccination campaign, the active cases were reduced to only two.

He said the two patients were residents of Barangay Salapan.

He urged the unvaccinated residents to avail themselves of the Covid-19 vaccines.

On Sunday, San Juan City physically celebrated its 115th founding anniversary, for the first time after two years of quarantine restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The city conducts house-to-house Covid-19 booster shot vaccination in various villages.

In Pasig City, the local government reminded the residents not to be complacent amid the decline of active cases in the entire Metro Manila.

“We urge everyone to remain vigilant and be mindful of observing the minimum public health standards at all times,” the Pasig City Public Information Office wrote in a social media post.

Pasig has 20 active cases left.

It is now conducting house-to-house administration of booster shots to eligible vaccinees belonging to vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens and those with comorbidities.
